How come making a difference is becoming difficult in the present day? Whenever, one person or a group of people try to make a difference there is always some sort of complication that makes it a bit difficult for volunteers to make a difference. We constantly say that it does not matter how old you are: if you want to make a difference and better the lives of people who are need then age is not the factor.

However, there have been minor glitches such as: age, requirements and certain “qualifications” that need to be passed in order to help out in your community or anywhere. This causes the person that wants to help become frustrated and causes them to lose hope if they are being held back. Furthermore, the main problem that is plagueing the world is simply being unaware of the horrors that are going on in the world, or as some people do, ignore it. It is because of certain preventions that is causing not enough people to help in the global issues that are involved in our day-to-day activities.

The title of my article is “Austalia minister pleads for food aid for Somalia.” I can tell you a couple of important things that are wrong in this title alone. First of all, why is the minister pleading for food? Has the world become so vain that everyone of us can not even afford a single can of food? Are we truly that selfish? The title alone captured my attention and made me feel a sense of pity, sadness and anger for realizing that now it has come down to leaders of the world to beg when before it was the people.

Second, the title also states “Australia”, how come there is the mention of only one continent? Why not North America or Europe? How come is it that only Australia is taking a part and paying attention to the hunger and starvation in Somalia? It shouldn’t be just Australia, if every single person in the world can donate a can of food, together we can make a difference and end the terrible fate that is heading towards Somalia in a couple of months. It isn’t fair that we consume a whole table of food, while in Somalia they can’t even afford the plate to eat in.
